Coupeville, Washington

Custom metalwork,
built around your vision.

Jake Wall designs and fabricates one-of-a-kind pieces for homes, businesses, and outdoor spaces — from railings and architectural features to kitchens, planters, and fully custom work. Bring an idea, a sketch, or a problem, and we build the solution.

No two projects alike

A metalsmith who can make nearly anything — designed for the way you'll use it.

Every job starts with a conversation, not a catalog. Some clients arrive with finished drawings; most bring a photo, a measurement, or a rough idea. Either way, the work is designed and built from scratch to fit the space, the budget, and the goal.

Skilled fabrication

Clean welds, tight tolerances, and finishes that hold up — the fundamentals done right.

Creative problem-solving

When there's no off-the-shelf answer, we work out how to make it possible.

Collaboration

We work alongside homeowners, designers, and builders to get the details right.

Durable by design

Materials and construction chosen for how a piece is actually used — and the weather it lives in.

Capabilities

A wide range of work, all built to order.

These are the projects that come up most often — but the list isn't exhaustive. If it can be cut, welded, formed, or finished in metal, it's worth a conversation.

01

Railings & Handrails

Interior stairs, balconies, decks, and entryways — from clean minimal steel to detailed ornamental work, built to code and to the space.

02

Custom Door Hardware

Pulls, hinges, thumb-latches, and sliding door hardware forged and machined to match a door instead of bolted on as an afterthought.

03

Planter Boxes

Corten, powder-coated steel, and mixed-material planters sized for patios, courtyards, and commercial entrances.

04

Kitchen & Interior Finishes

Range hoods, shelving, counters, backsplashes, and hardware that anchor a room with warm, tactile metal.

05

Architectural Metalwork

Canopies, gates, structural accents, screens, and feature elements developed alongside your plans and drawings.

06

Outdoor Features

Fire elements, trellises, fencing, and hardware finished to hold up to salt air and Pacific Northwest weather.

07

Furniture & Fixtures

Tables, benches, bases, lighting, and one-off pieces that pair steel with wood, stone, or glass.

08

Repairs & Modifications

Reinforcing, re-welding, refinishing, and adapting existing metalwork so it lasts and fits how you actually use it.

09

Fully Custom Fabrication

Bring a sketch, a photo, or a problem with no obvious answer — we design and build the solution from there.

Don't see your project? Tell us what you have in mind — most of the best work starts as something that isn't on a list.

How it works

A straightforward path from idea to installed.

You don't need finished drawings or a fixed plan to get started. Most projects begin with a rough idea — we take it from there.

  1. 01

    Share your idea

Send a sketch, a photo, a measurement, or just a description of the problem. Nothing needs to be finalized — a rough idea is a fine place to start.

  2. 02

    Talk scope & materials

We walk through dimensions, materials, finishes, budget, and how the piece will be used, then confirm what's realistic and what it will cost.

  3. 03

    Design & refine

You get a clear direction — drawings, material samples, or references — and we adjust until the details are right before any steel is cut.

  4. 04

    Fabricate

The piece is cut, welded, and finished in the shop with the tolerances and joinery the project calls for.

  5. 05

    Deliver or install

We deliver and install on-site, or hand off ready to mount — clean, level, and built to last.

About the maker

Jake Wall — a local craftsman on Whidbey Island.

Based in Coupeville, Jake builds custom metalwork for clients across Whidbey Island & the greater Seattle area. With over 12 years in the trade, the work spans fine interior details and rugged outdoor pieces, but the approach is the same either way: understand how something will be used, design it to fit, and build it to last. Outside the shop, he's usually working on his truck or hanging out with his dog, Uzi.
